Situated in the Porcupine Hills west of Stavely, Alberta, the Staveley Research Ranch is a unique and valuable demonstration of long-term effects of land management on grassland ecosystems in Alberta. Stavely was instrumental in development of the Alberta Range Health Assessment Protocols.
